The World Becomes Small Village

According to Twist (2005) in her article, "Controversy blight UN net summit there is some countries which want to put some restriction over freedom of speech. She says that the summit on the information will talk about closing the technology gap between the countries rich or poor. The author explains that some countries are suffering from lack of funding. The US delegation who attended the United Nation’s largest ever summit was disappointed by the government of Tunis. They started with a law for censorship. Also, Chinese police use the internet against criminals and they use it for economics. On cyber security, it is difficult for any government to tackle any person who wrote in any forum.

Look! There is a revolution? What is that? Is there blood? No, when people listen to the news and hear the word revolution, they directly imagine that there is blood and killing. This revolution is different; this revolution is in information technology. The free world want to open the technology for every one, but some countries put many barriers in front of their populations. These governments use martial law to ban anything against their personal benefits. Therefore, using internet should not be banned anyway for many reasons; it gives much information for scientific research, it helps the police to catch the criminals, and people do trading with the internet.

First, researchers, in any country, are looking for much information to support their research. They want to find some information faster and more easily. For example, if one researcher needs a new article in any subject; he can reach it easily by using internet. But if the government in his country abolishes the internet, what shall the researcher do? Using internet gives the researchers many benefits; they can find any article which they want easily and faster than using normal mail.

The second reason that internet should be allowed is that the internet will help the police to catch the criminals. For example, if one criminal tries to cross the border, they can catch him since the police put criminal’s name on the internet and this name is known by all police. Police can distribute the name of criminals to all security centers to protect the people from the criminals quickly and easier by using the internet.

Finally, internet helps the people to make international trading. For example, anyone can observe stock markets and he can sell and buy many shares by using internet. Dealers can buy and sell by internet. They can save time and more money from that. People use many websites for electronic trading. For example, there is a good website whose name is eBay which contain many things like books, cameras, cell phones, and more.

In conclusion, people hope to see and read everything without any restrictions. People want to see the world as a small village without any gap between rich and poor. They want equality in all things, like learning, health, and freedom. So, internet must be free to all people to take information, to help police, and to help dealers to do good trading.
